Registration Terms & Rules

1. Do not criticize or disgrace the King and Royal Family.

2. Do not post anything that condemn any religion.

3. Do not post rude, offensive, pornographic, or explicit things.

4. Do not accuse other people or persuade readers to hate someone without having appropriate reason and proof.

5. Do not use other people's real name as your nick. Do not impersonate other people's registered nicknames.

6. Be careful in giving your real personal information, such as telephone number, pager number, or home address, to other poeple.

7. Every user must be responsible for any consequences that are caused by their own messages.

8. Do not start a trouble, or misbehave in this community.

9. You should post only the message which reflects or relates to the specific thread.

10. If we notice any message that violates a rule, we will edit or delete it without any prior notice.

11. We, the GG administrative team, will not take any responsibily for any message in our BBS.

2. About BBS of GG's functional pages.

A) [spoil=What is Home?]

It is the first page, the front gate of Gamer's Gate.

Currently partly under construction, so there will only be a few sections like Reviews, Previews, and News. News articles are from Gamer's Gate News section of the BBS.

There is also a Talks section, where admin or staff will occasionally say something or leave some messages.

Finally, Incoming Releases section will shows the new games that will be in the market in a near future.



You can access Home from everywhere by simply clicking on the button on the top left of GG's page.

B) [spoil=BBS]

BBS is a part where message board resides. In there you can read, post, or reply to a topic that you're interested in. This BBS is divided into categories for different types of interests or discussions. New version update now allows everyone to jump to other category withouth having to return to main page of BBS anymore. You can just select your destination category by choosing from a pull-down menu on the bottom right of the Thread Index pages.

C) [spoil=CP (Control Panel) What is it? Where is it? How does it work?]

CP is where you can control almost everyhting about your account (ID.) Everyone can access their own CP only. You can always access it by clicking button on the top left corner of the page. When you click it, it will take you to a page where your ID (account number) and Username (Login name) are listed.



On the left column will be listed as following;

Private Messages

Send PM

Change Info

Change Password

Change Avatar

Personal Settings

Personal Logs

Members List

Class Change

D) [spoil=C.P. : Information ?]

This is the default page or main page of your Control Panel. It will be the first thing you see whenever you access your CP. It shows your ID and your Username.

E) [spoil=C.P. : Private Messages? What is PM?]

Private Message, or in short, PM, is like your mailbox. Only you, the account owner can access the PM box. It will contain every messages that other GG members have privately sent to you. When you click on the menu "Private Message" all your PMs will be listed, showing the header, sender, and date. You can click the header to make the system show you the specific message.



This PM box has a limited space. Once it's full, you won't be able to receive any other PM. So, to leave space for new messages, we suggest that you should delete any messages that you have read and decided it's not important.



To delete a PM, just click on the red x button on the right at the end of the message's info line.

F) [spoil=C.P. : Send PM ?]

This is where you can type your message and type the destination member name (nickname, screen name) and send a PM. However this function is less popular because you have to manually input the name of the recipient. Be careful not to get a wrong reader.



Most people like to click a PM icon of the recipient instead, because a new PM window will pop up and will automatically fill in the name for you. This icon or button can be found under everyone else's name in every thread.

G) [spoil=C.P. : Change Info ?]

You can change your personal information here.

For instance,

Nickname : your display name, screen name or nickname that will be shown on the BBS.

Email Address : you can't change this by yourself, if you want to change it, you have to contact a staff or admin. However, you can set your e-mail address status as Hide or Shown.

ICQ no. : ICQ number, your input number will be shown when a reader hovers their mouse cursor over your ICQ icon on the BBS.

MSN : your e-mail address that you use on MSN messenger. The address will be shown when a reader hovers their mouse cursor over your MSN icon on the BBS.

Y! : your e-mail address that you use on Yahoo! messenger. The address will be shown when a reader hovers their mouse cursor over your Y! icon on the BBS.

Homepage : you can put a URL of your website, homepage in here. A reader can click on it and access your input URL.

H) [spoil=C.P. : Change Password ?]

Change your password. For security's sake, you have to provide your old password to the system in here too.

I) [spoil=C.P. : Change Avatar ?]

Change your Avatar image (portrait.) At the moment, each member can upload only 1 image. The size is limited to 80*80 pixels.



*NOTE*

In GG, explicitly nude or offensive image is strictly prohibited. Also, please do not copy other member's Avatar (everyone deserves to be unique, you, too, wouldn't want someone else to copy and use the same image as yours as an Avatar, right?)



Moreover, for courtesy towards fanartists, please do not take other people's fanart image to use as your avatar. As the image owner (creator) might become upset or angry.

J) [spoil=C.P. : Personal Settings ?]

Right now only 1 option in here is available. You can select whether you'd allow other standard members to send you a PM or not.[/spoil]

You can click here to browse GG's member list.[/spoil]

M) [spoil=C.P. : Class Change ?]

Switch to other jobs or units. This chosen preference will be shown under your name when you post in the BBS.

N) [spoil=Log in / Log out]

Click this menu to Login to or Logout from GG's system. If you're using a public computer or other people's computer, you should logout every time you're done reading or using GG BBS. Otherwise other people might hi-jack your account or impersonate you.

However, if you didn't choose "Keep login" function, the security system of GG is set that it will logout automatically when all windows are closed.

O) [spoil=What's that Change Polarity button? Why GG often switches color when I visit?]

Near the bottom right corner of every GG page, there will be a "Change Polarity" button. When you click on it, the look of GG will switch to the other theme. We currently have 2 colors, White (light gray), and Black (dark gray.) You can choose whichever color you feel comfortable with.

For those who are wondering why the look of GG BBS switches to the other color when you visit, although you hadn't click the "Change Polarity" button, it's because the "random" theme selection. First time you visit GG, it will randomly select a color preference for you, either black theme or white theme. Then, when you revisit us afterwards, it will always be the same color as the first time, unless you click the button.



When you delete your temporary internet files, this preference data will be cleared. So the next time you visit after clearing temp files, the system will random the look again. So you might run into a theme different from your last time if you're using other computer or if you clear temp files. [/spoil]







3. Trouble Shooting

A) [spoil=Active Code hasn't arrived yet.]

Since Active Code is used as a mean to verify your registration (that the e-mail address you gave was correct and not misspelled,) a new registrant without Active Code won't be able to activate their account and thus can't login to the GG BBS. After you submit your information on the registration page, it will say:
